Collaborations at IOEMA Collection began when Michael Hoffee sent Mikey Welsh a canvas he had started and asked Mikey to finish; it disappeared. Hoffee persisted twice more and Mikey finished both and sent to me. Hoffee did another with Francesco Garieri and then with Stephen Judges, both in France. Other artists got into the act, with Judges/Steve Murison and Connie Sales/Khara Oxier sending their work as well. These artworks remain the most humbling in the collection.

2010 Michael Hoffee/Mikey Welsh
Flowers for Mikey 110"x72" acrylics, house paint on canvas.
Hoffee's flowers are fan shaped. Mikey painted in all the white and made his flowers explosions like bombs bursting in air. Mikey repeatedly painted over Hoffee's flowers along the line running up to the left and over painted other flowers, essentially obliterating them. Mikey finished the painting by throwing a white stream of paint at the middle right side.
